Overview: Documentary film produced by Almost Red Productions as an audiovisual coverage of the NUART Festival Shaocheng, an international urban art event held in Chengdu. The project documents a multidisciplinary programme bringing together exhibitions, concerts, talks, screenings and large-scale urban interventions in public space.

The film captures the development of the festival through its artistic processes, the interaction between international and local artists, and the transformation of the urban environment, offering a visual record of contemporary creation and its relationship with the community.

URBAN ART, FESTIVAL AND DOCUMENTARY APPROACH

The documentary follows the evolution of the NUART Festival Shaocheng as a platform for urban art and contemporary creation, focusing on the processes behind murals, installations and artistic interventions developed in the public space of Chengdu.

Through observational footage and direct documentation of the artists at work, the film explores the relationship between art, city and audience, highlighting how urban environments are transformed through creative practices and collective participation.

The audiovisual approach prioritises proximity and process, capturing both the scale of the interventions and the everyday dynamics of the festival, creating a narrative that connects artistic expression with its social and cultural context.
