Almost Red Productions is an independent film production company founded by Roberto F. Canuto and Xu Xiaoxi, developing auteur cinema focused on identity, memory, and cross-cultural storytelling.

Based between Asturias (Spain) and Chengdu (China), the company creates both fiction and non-fiction projects with an intimate and socially engaged perspective, in dialogue with queer narratives and international contexts.

Roberto F. Canuto and Xu Xiaoxi are independent filmmakers and co-founders of Almost Red Productions, with an international trajectory in auteur cinema and a strong connection to LGBTQ+ storytelling.

Their films are defined by a strong visual language and a restrained narrative approach, focusing on atmosphere, rhythm, and the subtle tension between characters.
