Client / Institution:
Mintown Studio Community · NUART Festival · Chengdu Creativity & Design (Chengdu, China)

Year: 2014

Project Description:
Audiovisual coverage of the NUART Festival (Shao Cheng, 2014) produced by Almost Red Productions. The project documents a multidisciplinary festival bringing together exhibitions, concerts, talks, film screenings, urban interventions, and public activities, with a strong focus on contemporary creation and its relationship with the local community.

The filming was carried out by a multi-camera crew working simultaneously to capture both the artistic programme and the atmosphere of the event, resulting in a main documentary piece alongside several short-format videos created to support communication and dissemination.
FESTIVAL · ART, MUSIC, AND COMMUNITY IN CHENGDU

The video integrates interviews with participating artists, attending audiences, and the festival organisers, combined with observational footage of the event: installations and exhibitions, live performances and concerts, street craft markets, talks, screenings, and urban interventions such as performative actions and graffiti. The editing seeks to convey the collective energy of the festival and its ability to activate public space through culture.

NUART in Chengdu is characterised by its combination of live music, visual arts, and a creative market environment, establishing itself as a meeting point for local and international creatives as well as for the wider community engaged with the festival. The final result is an agile and cinematic portrait of a festival understood as a shared cultural experience.
